Summary Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.

Technical Skills - Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills. Must be knowledgeable of Mil standard and specification. Strong plate inspection layout qualities are a must as are use of profilometer, Rockwell tester and all hand tools. Should have a working knowledge of an Optical comparator. Proper usage of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is a must.

Oral Communication - Listens and gets clarification. Must be able to give feed back to operators on condition of 1st piece parts so that proper adjustments can be made to CNC codes and offsets.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must have 2 years experience in an ISO9000 of AS9100 job shop environment.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to read and understand drawings and mylars.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully basic computer skills are required.
